The art in DinoGenics steps away from the safari park aesthetic of the obvious film reference. We executed thematic card and board designs to enhance the flavor of a modern theme park driven by media and science.

More about DinoGenics

DinoGenics is a board game that puts players in the role of park managers responsible for creating and operating their own dinosaur theme parks. Designed by Richard Keene and published by Ninth Haven Games, DinoGenics offers a blend of strategic planning, worker placement, and dinosaur management mechanics.

In DinoGenics, players compete to attract visitors to their parks by building attractions, housing various species of dinosaurs, and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of their guests. The game is played over several rounds, each representing a season in the park's operation.

Players begin by drafting various components to construct their parks, including buildings, enclosures, and attractions. They must strategically place these components on their player boards to optimize the layout and functionality of their parks.

A key aspect of DinoGenics is the acquisition and management of dinosaurs. Players must acquire dinosaur DNA, hatch eggs, and house the dinosaurs in suitable enclosures within their parks. Different species of dinosaurs have unique requirements and traits, adding depth to the gameplay and requiring players to plan carefully to meet the needs of their prehistoric inhabitants.

Throughout the game, players must also manage resources such as money, workers, and security measures to ensure the smooth operation of their parks. They can hire specialists with unique abilities to gain advantages and outmaneuver their opponents.

DinoGenics features a dynamic economy system where players can earn income from ticket sales, concessions, and souvenir shops. However, they must also contend with the risk of disasters such as dinosaur escapes or visitor injuries, which can damage their reputation and financial stability.

The game culminates in a final scoring phase where players earn points based on various factors, including the number and variety of dinosaurs in their parks, the satisfaction of their visitors, and the overall safety and efficiency of their operations. The player with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.

With its engaging theme, strategic depth, and immersive gameplay, DinoGenics offers an exciting experience for fans of both dinosaur-themed games and strategic board games in general.
